Opening Night
Hosted at the Directors Guild Theatre and Atrium, PAFF’s most glamorous event that attracts Hollywood A-list celebrities, local politicians, prominent community leaders and key-influencers. A high-profile, heavily attended (750 guests) and media covered affair that provides excellent branding/promotional opportunities. Partner branding all throughout the evening festivities including acknowledgement during the formal Opening welcome, company branded gift bag distribution, product display, sampling, and literature distribution. The Opening Night includes a Film Premiere, Red Carpet Celebrity Stroll, and Pre-Screening Reception, Post Screening Gala with live music and other entertainment, VIP Hospitality Suite & celebrity photo opportunities.
Night of Tribute Awards Presentation & Reception
This star-studded affair provides excellent branding/promotional opportunities with high profile media coverage. Significant film and community leaders receive honors. PAFF’s #1 partner receives the Corporate Responsibility Award. There are branding opportunities throughout the Awards Show Presentation and Reception. Company branded gift bag distribution opportunity for Award Reception attendees, partner logo on stage backdrop; opportunity to make a brief statement at the Awards Show and present an Award to one of the honorees. This event is produced by and taped for screening on the Africa Channel (www.africachannel.com) that has distribution in Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA; Baton Rouge, LA; Detroit, MI; the Washington, D.C. area and throughout Africa and Europe. Centerpiece & Post-Screening After-Party
This special screening in the middle of the Festival is always a popular night, usually with appearances by the films’ cast and other celebrities. (300 guests)
Closing Night & Post-Screening Reception
The last gala screening of the festival also typically draws the film’s cast and other celebrities who are ready to celebrate the closing of another successful festival year. (300-400 guests)
Artist Market
Over 100 fine artists and quality craftspeople from the US and the worldover whose artistic aesthetic is rooted in Africa and its Diaspora present their creative works including sculptures, oil on canvas, paper, glass, ceramics, metal, cloth, plastic, wax, wire, leather, stone, etc.
StudentFest
The PAFF provides FREE arts education for over 10,000 students from the Los Angeles Unified School District and throughout Los Angeles County. Students view age appropriate specially programmed films and have discussions with film and community professionals in the morning and in the afternoon tour the fine arts market where they interact with the artists. (10,000+ elementary, middle and senior high school students attend.) One of PAFF’s most popular special programs!
Saturday Morning Children’s Fest
Great fun for the entire family, Children’s Fest entertains over 1,500 children, ages 4-12, and their parents with FREE film screenings, storytelling, refreshments and interactive activities.
Filmmakers’ Brunch
PAFF attracts filmmakers from the U.S., Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Australia and Canada. The Filmmakers’ Brunch provides these artists with an opportunity to network with one another, exchange ideas and create relationships.
Filmmakers Awards Breakfast
A standing-room only event attended by TV, cable, print and electronic media, filmmakers, casts and crew members, PAFF jurors, PAFF executive staff and the general public. (200 guests)
Seniors’ Connections
A perfect branding opportunity to reach retired yet active seniors. Seniors Connection provides seniors, ages 62+, with FREE, weekday, age-appropriate content film screenings from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. (1000 guests)
Spoken Word Fest
A special Friday evening of some of the hottest, hippest, SpokenWord artists in the country attracts teens to young adults in the MTV Generation, the Y Generation and the iGeneration. (300 guests)
Fashion Show
Featuring fashions and accessories available at the 2010 Artist Market. With beautiful women and handsome men, this is one the most popular FREE events of the Festival, appealing to men, women and teens.
Industry Panels and Forums
A gatherings of industry professionals, academics and trendsetters discussing the hottest new topics in filmmaking, art, and cultural trends. Free and open to all. (Demographics Ages 18-55)
Filmmaker’s Party
It’s a Blast! Preceding the Gala Opening, and held at one of Los Angeles’ most “in” private clubs, this is an opportunity for festival filmmakers to meet and party with other filmmakers, celebrities, V.I.P.s and Industry execs. By Invitation Only. (Demographics Ages 21+)
Artists’ Reception
Collectors mingle with some of the leading Black artists in the U.S. Sit-in on discussions of the latest trends and preview the artists’ newest works at one of L. A.’s most trendy restaurants. (Demographics Ages 25-55+)
