Journeying to Africa to explore its original history before it was abruptly and brutally interrupted by the slave trade and colonization, a young mother sets out on the trail of her ancestors, in search of answers for her children that she herself couldn’t obtain from her parents. She starts her journey in West Africa at the Museum of Black Civilizations in Dakar, Senegal, which hosts the exhibition: Africa, Cradle of Humanity and Modern Civilizations. To find out about the lifestyles of her ancestors who lived on the continent before the deportation and to reconstruct history and re-establish Africa’s contributions to humanity, she interviews several scholars who have researched and written reference books on African History and Civilization. In their company, she travels through time and space through spiritual, historical, and scientific testimonies that illuminate the golden age of the continent.
