synopsis

After serial failures in his life Mohamed, a young Algerian in his thirties, loses hope in his country, crosses the Mediterranean, and lives as illegal immigrant in France.

director's bio

Smail Beldjelalia was born in 1984 in Algeria. He grew up in El M'hir, then in Oran. After earning an MA in English, he taught himself framing, video-editing, color grading, computer graphics and directing. In 2018, he earned the diploma of high cinematographic studies studied at the Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle. He set up RIWAYA Films in Paris in 2019.
