synopsis

When a strong, determined woman finds treasure on Lake Kivu, she began a quest to form the first Rwandan fisherwomen group ever. Breaking traditional gender roles and norms, her "liberated women" made history in Rwandan society by turning the patriarchal fishing community upside-down.

Deve Shema is a Rwandan author, screen writer; director, and producer. He made several short films. He is currently producing a feature documentary "Kinema." His first feature fiction project "Black Widow" won in a co-production competition at Kigali Audiovisual Forum.
