The Girl with Curly Hair
Hazel is a 9-year-old girl from the Afro-Filipino Aeta tribe in the Philippines. She lives with her family in a small village with little food or running water. Her African heritage and dark skin combine to prevent her from normal education. She dreams of becoming a medical doctor but first she needs to fight racism, poverty, and several social issues.
Alireza Mirasadollah, an Iranian-born, London-based artist, is a well-known author in his homeland of Iran and has written seventeen books. He began his career as an animator in New Zealand 1997. In 2009, he joined the BBC in London and worked as a journalist and documentary maker for 10 years.
