Velvet
synopsis
Set in 1965, outlaw lovers Eve and Austin await their getaway driver in the Mojave Desert after committing a bank heist. Austin's racial prejudice threatens to tear them apart when he finds out that Eve has a Black mother. Meanwhile, a famous Italian director watches their every move.

Victoria DeBlauss, an actress, writer, and filmmaker from Miami Beach, recently graduated with a Master's degree from Drama Centre London. She won Best Emerging Filmmaker at the 2020 Santa Monica Film Festival. Currently based in Los Angeles, her short film "Velvet" is based on her experiences as a mixed-race woman in America.
