The Pan African Film and Arts Festival (PAFF), America’s largest Black film and arts festival, has opened registration for its 2023 Festival’s StudentFest. The PAFF StudentFest provides film screenings during Black History Month to Los Angeles area schools. PAFF offers free youth education screenings for students in grades 5 through 12 that are age-appropriate and culturally relevant that showcase a broad spectrum of Black creative works, particularly those that reinforce positive images and help to destroy negative stereotypes of Africans and African-Americans. In addition to the film screenings, students have the opportunity to interact with various film industry professionals as well as tour the PAFF’s world-renowned art show, and interact with over 100 fine artists and craftspeople from around the world.
The PAFF StudentFest takes place at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills & XD between February 13-17, 2023. Educators interested in signing up for their classes to attend can visit paff.org/studentfest. For more information, please email [email protected].
